A mini saga is a very short short story written in exactly fifty words, heading not counted.


The theme can be practically everything.

It usually is a story that is not short in words, but it explodes by reading because it is compressed to the core value.

It actually needs to transmit in making the reader think.

Eine Mini-Saga ist eine sehr kurze Kurzgeschichte, die in genau fünfzig Worten geschrieben ist, wobei die Überschrift nicht mitgezählt wird.

Als Thema kann man praktisch alles nehmen.

Gewöhnlich ist es eine Geschichte, die eigentlich nicht kurz ist. Sie explodiert förmlich, wenn man sie liest, weil sie auf das Wesentliche verdichtet ist.

Der Leser muss also darüber nachdenken, um einen Zugang zur Geschichte zu finden.

Eine Erfolgsgeschichte

1982 arbeitete Brian Aldiss am ersten Teil seiner epischen Geschichte, der Romantrilogie Helliconia, was ihn ganz auslastete. Das ist der Grund weswegen er nach einem Ausgleich suchte.

Er hatte die Vision von etwas Kurzem, das man in ein oder fünf Minuten schreiben konnte. Eine neue Kategorie der Saga wurde geboren. Obwohl die Mini-Saga eine sehr kurze Short Story ist (nur fünfzig Wörter), erzählt sie eine ganze Geschichte wie eine große Saga.


Im gleichen Jahr ergriff das Sunday Telegraph Magazine die Initiative und veranstaltete den ersten Mini-Saga-Wettbewerb. Mehr als 32000 Mini-Sagas wurden an das Telegraph Sunday Magazine eingeschickt.


Drei weitere Wettbewerbe in den Jahren 1997, 1999 und 2001 fanden statt, aber im Augenblick gibt es keine Pläne für einen weiteren Wettbewerb. Berühmte Persönlichkeiten wie HRH Princess Margaret and Secretary David Lammy versuchten sich an dieser literarischen Form.

A Story of Success

In the year 1982, Brian Aldiss was working on the first part of his epic saga, the novel-trilogy Helliconia which was fully stretched him. That is the reason why he was searching for a contrast.

He had the vision of something short, to be written in a minute or five. A new art of Saga was born. Although the Mini-Saga is a very short story (only fifty words), it tells a whole story like a Maxi-Saga.




In the same year, the Sunday Telegraph Magazine took the initiative and created the first Mini-Saga-Competition. Over 32000 Mini-Sagas were sent to the Telegraph Sunday Magazine.


Three other competitions in the years 1997, 1999 and 2001 took place, but there are no plans for a competition at the moment. Famous people like HRH Princess Margaret and Secretary David Lammy explored this literary form.

Minisaga

aus Wikipedia, der freien Enzyklopädie

Die Minisaga ist eine Textsorte, die durch ihre Kürze den Autor zu einer Reduktion und Rationalisierung seiner Ausdrucksmittel zwingt.

Während sie thematisch frei ist, muss sie formal folgenden Kriterien genügen:
  • Exakt 50 Wörter, Kontraktionen (z.B. he's; Anm. Autor) gelten üblicherweise als ein Wort, Wörter mit Bindestrichen dagegen nicht.
  • Mit Titel, der allerdings nicht mehr als 15 Zeichen haben darf.
  • Sie sollte eine Geschichte erzählen, muss allerdings nicht in Prosa verfasst sein.

Die Minisaga ist besonders im englischsprachigen Raum beliebt, vor allem auch bei Lernenden.
